The first time it happened was when I unlocked 'Martial Arts' (tier 4 ability). By then I had an all melee build (brut, cyborg, assassin) and around 780 might level. According to the power/ability sheet, my Spin Slash did 250 dmg, Dragon Reversal 356 dmg and uiltimate Deadly Dive 1024 dmg. Then a while after I decided to mix things up a little with some class changes. However, the ability levels’ stat caps can increase, the next ability can be unlocked, and the pet may look different depending on the rarity level. For example, a divine pet with the heal ability at level 30 will heal 13 HP, the same as a common pet with heal level 30. The only differences are in the appearance of the pet and in the stat caps.

OK just from the start I am not playing this build but I just wanted the challenge in figuring out how to make an awesome monk that uses no magical items what so ever while at the same time being an interesting character concept to play. I am already handling two characters atm. This is purely a hypothetical concept build just for fun but I would love some feedback on it.
The Kind Wild-Man Monk Build Basic Concept: A savage monk of strong convictions and charity Race: Human ( This is for the extra skill points and the extra feat) Flaws: (This is for two extra feats) Murky-Eyed Your vision is obscured. Effect: In combat, every time you attack an opponent that has concealment, roll your miss chance twice. Shaky You are relatively poor at ranged combat. Effect: You take a –2 penalty on all ranged attack rolls. Total starting feats: 4 feats before any bonus feats from classes. Ability Scores: Max Dex & Wis (18 in both scores) all other scores 10 or higher Monk 8, Druid 5, Master of Many Forms 5, Fist of the Forest 3 Final Ability Scores:Dex 36, Wis 24, +4 to Con, + 2 to strength stats will vary of course Key Feats: Vow of Poverty Monastic training X 2 Druid & Master of Many Forms (unless Master of Many forms counts as a pseudo druid class) Dodge superior unarmed attack (adds +4 levels for unarmed dmg) Weapon Finesse ( Dex is used for attk bonus) Improved Natural attack Lion’s Charge (use a daily wild shape to charge and do a full attack action) Total AC: 10 (base) + 10 (AC Bonus from Vow) + 13 (from Dex) + 1 (monk Bonus) + 3 (Deflection bonus from Vow) + 2 (Natural from Vow) + 7 (from Wis) + 2 or more (from Fist of the Forest Con bonus) + 1 from dodge = 49 AC but maybe higher depending on the stat generated for Con. Note: This AC is from no armor or magic items. However this AC bonus could be possibly be enhanced from his druid spells and I don’t see why he couldn’t accept grafts from a fellow PC if they have that feat or the character could take it himself. BAB from all class levels added together: +15/+10/+5 (I think I got this right but not totally sure but since monks and druids use the same table for BAB) Attack Bonus: + 13 (from Dex) + 5 (from Vow) = 18 Total Attack: +31/+28/+23 Unarmed Damage: 2d6 (because of superior unarmed attack) but becomes 2d8 from fist of the forest, but wait there is more!!! Improved Natural Attack now increases the unarmed damage becomes 3d8. Now for my last card trick because of the Master of Many forms this character can wild shape into a Giant which changes everything so after Superior Unarmed attack my character turned giant strikes unarmed as 3d6 but because of fist of the forest he strikes as 3d8 but then we add back the improved natural attack and he hits for 4d8. So at level 20 before any other feats or stats there character has: AC 49 Total attack of +31/+28/+23 Unarmed Strikes of 3d8 in normal form and 4d8 in giant wild form ( might be enhanced with fists of iron for an extra 1d6) Saves: Fort +19 (maybe higher depending on con), Ref +27, Will +18 Flurry: This I am not sure about because it depends on if Fist of the forest counts as a pseudo monk class but hence it’s name I would assume so. So the monk would attack then Spell Casting: Can Cast up to 3rd level druid spells. Has an Animal Companion: An Ape would be a good choice because how useful it can be Daily Wild Shapes: Can wild shape 6 times a day Note: So in one encounter the monk can become a giant and pounce up to 5 times allowing for a full attack Energy Resistence: 15 Damage Reduction: 10/evil, Regeneration: +1 HP every hour for lethal and +1 HP every 5 min for Non-lethal Freedom of Movement: As per spell Greater Sustenance: Character doesn’t need to eat, drink, or breath Exalted Strikes: In addition to +5 to attack character strikes as a good creature for overcoming DR/evil Mind Shield: Immune to Detect Thoughts and Discern Lies Bonus Exalted Feats: I would ask my DM to convert this to normal feats because most feats in BOED are full of cheese. This is the basic structure of the build but there are still feats that the character can take not to mention skills plus if I actually did play this well I would have to figure out of course what I could take first and so on. So achieving all this would be a challenge in itself but I do think it is possible. Now I know what some of you might be thinking is that OMG this is so cheese. Well I agree that the Vow of Poverty is powerful but you also have to understand that taking the vow means you can only own the clothes on your back and a enough food to eat. In addition this can be a challenging roleplaying experience because you are a charitable character as well as being a fighter of evil and in touch with nature and live in the wild or natural environments. Lastly, I did this all with with character concept in mind, what would be fun to play, fun to roleplay and not just splicing stuff together for just stats. For every benefit there is a consequence and a good DM knows how to enforce or reward them.
